LWVO had a fantastic day in April, celebrating Oakland and hearing from our speaker, Ari Berman, author of Give Us the Ballot. Read more and see pictures here!

Many Oaklanders attended, including City Attorney Barbara J. Parker, who noted, "...Mr. Berman gave a compelling speech about the history of the struggle for voting rights in America. Thanks to the League for another inspiring annual luncheon event, and for all the work the League does on behalf of Oakland and its residents to educate voters."

About Our Speaker Ari Berman
Our guest speaker is Ari Berman, acclaimed author of Give Us the Ballot: the Modern Struggle for Voting RIghts in America. Watch Ari talk about voting rights here!
